Jessica hosted Saturday Night Live last night (Jan 20) for the first time! Chastain’s monologue took the typical musical number conceit and tied it to something a touch more meaningful. Outspoken feminist Chastain (alongside #MeToo and #TimesUp t-shirt-sporting Kate McKinnon and Cecily Strong) sang an energetically anthemic version of “You Don’t Own Me” after the host called out the millions of women around the country taking to the streets on the one-year anniversary of the Women’s March.

This weekend is the one-year anniversary of the Women’s March and everyone knows women never forget an anniversary.

We’ll work in uploading the videos available to everyone (since NBC only makes it available to US only) but for now, you can see in our gallery the promos and screen captures added. Enjoy!

Jessica stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon earlier this week to continue to promote Molly’s Game, Time’s Up and her hosting Saturday Night Live. Jessica talked about hosting SNL, the Golden Globes and she did another sketch alongside Jimmy Fallon in which she showed Jimmy what’s it like to play a female character.

Jessica Chastain shares some of the SNL hosting advice she got from pals Gal Gadot and Amy Schumer, reveals what it was like to witness Oprah’s inspirational Golden Globes speech and recounts the embarrassing first time they met.

Jessica Chastain and Jimmy illustrate how underwritten female characters are by swapping genders while they read movie scenes. Learn more about the campaign toward safety and equality across all industries at timesupnow.com.

Jessica is on cover of WSJ Magazine, in its February issue. With the interview, made to promote Molly’s Game, there’s also a beautiful photoshoot by Annemarieke Van Drimmelen. Alongside Chastain, the magazine also has quotes from Molly Bloom herself, Aaron Sorkin, Idris Elba and Melissa Silverstein, founder of Women and Hollywood, an initiative that advocates for gender equity in the entertainment industry and named Chastain as a co-chair for its 10th anniversary celebration last fall. Chastain also talks about gender equality on this great interview.

Chastain is a strong advocate for gender equity in Hollywood, where women have routinely suffered egregious disparities in pay as well as other forms of power and representation. “I’m not taking jobs anymore where I’m getting paid a quarter of what the male co-star is being paid,” Chastain said last year. “Women need to step forward and demand they’re fairly compensated for their work.”

But when she started speaking out, first about equality issues and then about the sexual harassment scandals in Hollywood, she was afraid her assertiveness might damage her career—a concern that made her Golden Globe nomination doubly meaningful. “To be honest, I’m mainly surprised,” she told the New York Times in December. “I have a lot of fear, thinking that if I speak my mind…am I going to be made to disappear in my industry?”

We have the article added in our press archive (please give us link back if reposting) and the photoshoot added in our gallery. Scans of the magazine will be added when if available.

Jessica will reteam with her “The Help” co-star Octavia Spencer for an untitled comedy at Universal. Chastain herself teamed with Kelly Carmichael (producer of “The Nanny Diaries,” “Nine,” and “My Week With Marilyn“) to write the treatment which will be turned into a script by Peter Chiarelli (“The Proposal,” “Now You See Me 2,” the upcoming “Crazy Rich Asians“). The story is said to be in the vein of the great “Planes, Trains and Automobiles” and will follow two women trying to make it home for Christmas, according to THR.

No words yet on director or starting of principal photography.
