Jessica is featured on the most recent Jimmy Kimmel’s Mean Tweets: Movie Edition video. Watch it:
Empire magazine has on its April issue two pages featuring The Huntsman: Winter’s War.
If Empire had a pound for every time we were told a sequel was “going darker”, we’d have enough cash to produce our own blockbuster. And its darker sequel.
Intriguingly, though, The Huntsman: Winter’s War is going in the opposite direction. “The first film was heavy,” says Chris Hemsworth, who once again plays Eric, the eponymous huntsman. “This time, we’re letting the comedy steer things as opposed to getting buried in the weighty stuff.”That’s not all. Hemsworth, and Charlize Theron as evil queen Ravenna, may remain, but Kristen Stewart – who played Snow White – has moved on, to be replaced by heavy-duty reinforcements: Jessica Chastain as Huntsman’s true love, warrior woman Sara, and Emily Blunt as Ravenna’s sinister sister, Freya. Add Chastain and Blunt to any film and you have our curiosity. Give them swords, bows and arrows, and make them fight, and you have our attention. “I’ve been training a lot, so that Sara is absolutely Eric’s equal,” says Chastain. “I love the action stuff.”
That’s evident on the day we visited the Pinewood sets, where we witness an almighty duty-up between Chastain and Blunt on a soundstage converted into the sumptuous courtyard of an ice palace. For Freya, it turns out, can control snow and frost. It’s all very Frozen, although she doesn’t want to build a snowman. “I’m mostly skulking around my castel, being evil,” laughs Blunt. “I’m surprising how easily being bad comes to me. Even a bit worrying…”
The Huntsman: Winter’s War is out on April 8 on UK and April 22 in U.S.
Also we added scans from another magazine featuring Jessica.
Jessica launched her own production company: Freckle Films. Deadline is reporting that Freckle Films opted two books.
Jessica Chastain has launched Freckle Films, a new production venture, and inked a first look overhead deal with Trudie Styler and Celine Rattray’s transatlantic financing-production banner Maven Pictures. The two companies have already optioned two books: The Magician’s Lie by Greer Macallister and Camille Pagan’s novel, Life and Other Near-Death Experiences.
The Magician’s Lie tells the story of a famous female illusionist named Ada, who is suspected of killing her husband after the dead body of a man is found inside of one of her stage props. A young police officer, Virgil Fecht, manages to track down the female magician and take her into his custody. Over the course of one night, Ada must recount her life story in order to prove her innocence.
In Life and Other Near Death Experiences, Libby Miller discovers she has an aggressive form of cancer and that her husband, Tom, is secretly gay on the same day. Libby immediately drops everything in her life, including Tom, and takes a trip to Puerto Rico where she meets a man named Shiloh, who gives her a new perspective on life and getting treatment.
Last Wednesday (17) Today Show aired a special look behind the scenes on The Huntsman: Winter’s War, and Katy Tur sat down with the cast, including Charlize Theron, Emily Blunt, Jessica Chastain and Chris Hemsworth. Watch the video in our archive, plus screencaptures at the gallery.
“Miss Julie” is a independent drama film written and directed by Liv Ullmann, based on the play of the same title by August Strindberg and starring Jessica Chastain, Colin Farrell and Samantha Morton. Set in Ireland in this adaptation, it had its world premiere in the Special Presentations section of the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival. The film was released on DVD last year and can also be found on Amazon Video and iTunes.
I finally got my copy and HD screencaptures can now be found in our gallery, as well some clips in our video archive. With the movie being 2 hours long and only three actors on screen, there’s a lot of screentime for Jessica so I made only a few pivotal scene clips. Enjoy it!

Queen Ravenna and Eric the Huntsman return in the new trailer for “The Huntsman: Winter’s War,” which previews a fiery sister rivalry between Ravenna and her ice queen sister Freya.
The new footage reveals the origin of the ongoing feud between the sisters, which was sparked by Ravenna’s betrayal of sister Freya, causing her to flee their kingdom. Once escaped, Freya retreats to an ice palace where she spends years building up an army to defeat Ravenna. Aiding in Freya’s quest for domination is Eric the Huntsman, her most elite warrior, who’s pining for the heart of Sara despite Freya’s request that her warriors refrain from falling in love.
Directed by “Snow White and the Huntsman” VFX supervisor Cedric Nicolas-Troyan, “The Huntsman: Winter’s War” stars Jessica Chastain, Chris Hemsworth, Emily Blunt, Charlize Theron, Sam Claflin and Colin Morgan, and bows in theaters this April 22. Watch the trailer below:
