Jessica attended yesterday the 20th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards that took place at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. She was nominated as best supporting actress for her work on A Most Violent Year and also received the very first Most Valuable Player award, celebrating the diversity of roles she did in 2014.

And talking about diversity, Jessica delivered a very moving speech – after all the blacklash The Academy received for its lack of diversity on this year’s nominations – talking about diversity in Hollywood.

Today is Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday. So it’s got me thinking about our need to build the strength of diversity in our industry and to stand together against homophobic, sexist, misogynistic, anti-Semitic and racist agendas. I’m an optimist. And I can’t help but feel hopeful about the future of film, especially looking at all these beautiful people in this room. Martin Luther King Jr. said, our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter. And I would like to encourage everyone in this room to please speak up.
