Jessica is Dahlia Taslitz, which is taking care of her father after he experienced severe brain-damage from a work accident years ago. Due to an infection, Dahlia brings her father into the hospital for medical attention. Although Dahlia says her father cannot speak, doctors begin to wonder whether he is as unaware as his daughter alleges.
On her last year at Juilliard, she signed a contract with producer John Wells to appear in some of his tv shows. ER was her first screen appearance. In an interview to Independent, when promoting The Help, she said this role led her to play a lot of pshychotic characters: “In the first few years, I would look around auditions and realise that I wasn’t the same as everyone else. So I don’t think people knew what to do with me. But then I did a job on ER as a psychotic woman, and after that got a lot of jobs in TV where I wasn’t the normal one; I played a lot of girls who had something off. Maybe they’d been the victim of some horrible accident. Or they were crazy.”
