Production Notes

Filming began in April 2013. In a change of setting from the original Sweden of the play, the film was shot at Castle Coole, a late 18th-century country mansion in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland.
Michelle Williams was director Liv Ullmann original choice to play Miss Julie, but she had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts. Jessica signed to star right before the shooting starts.

The film received mixed reviews for the direction, but performances were constantly praised.
