One of the most intriguing films we’re anticipating at TIFF 2013 is “The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Him & Her”, starring James McAvoy and Jessica Chastain in dual perspectives that tell the story of a married couple. The first official still image from the film has been released in the wake of this morning’s announcement that it will make its world premiere as Special Presentation in Toronto.
Described as an “innovative two-part film that relates a love story from two different perspectives,” McAvoy and Chastain play a married couple (he’s a restauranteur, she wants to go back to college) whose tumultuous relationship is told from each of their point of views, resulting in two films, “The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Him” and “The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Her.” With a runtime of 190 minutes, it appears the two films should and will be seen together. Nina Arianda, Viola Davis, Bill Hader, Ciarán Hinds, Isabelle Huppert, William Hurt, and Jess Weixler co-star.
