Jessica Chastain has a fan base of her own, and it’s only growing with her recent Oscar nod.
But her rising star aside, The Help actress – and first-time nominee for her supporting role in the period drama – says she still gets star-struck.
“I do it all the time, every time I meet a famous person,” Chastain, 30, tells Vanity Fair in its Hollywood-themed February issue. “I’m such a geek.”
So which actor did Chastain have a blush-worthy run-in with while she was starring in a play in New York? None other than veteran leading lady Meryl Streep.
“I was in the lobby with some friends of mine, and I look over, and I said, ‘Is that Meryl Streep?’ ” she recalls. “And as I said it, she turned around and started walking toward me.”
That was the moment “everything got kind of foggy,” she says.
“She went, ‘Jessica,’ and she grabbed my hands and she was saying beautiful things about the play and my performance.”
Chastain’s self-proclaimed “embarrassing” reaction? “Because I was so shocked by it, all I did was I held her hands and went, ‘Thank you, thank you. It means so much to me that you came,’ ” she says. “And I walked away.”
It’s not the first time Chastain embraced her inner fan girl. At the Palm Springs International Film Festival earlier this month, the actress started crying when she met Gary Oldman.

Finally added pictures of Jessica at SAG awards last Sunday. Sorry for the delay…
She was BEAUTIFUL in an impeccably minimalist bright blue Calvin Klein gown, and is being listed everywhere as one of the best dressed of the night. Jessica was nominated as Supporting Actress for her work at The Help, and ‘lost it’ to her co-star Octavia Spencer, but took home the award for cast ensemble. Check the pictures below:

In the first-ever Hollywood Issue cover shoot from Vanity Fair contributing photographer Mario Testino, a bevy of Hollywood’s most precocious beauties lounge across a three-panel foldout—including two new Oscar nominees. The Art Deco set was designed to evoke the all-white, Jazz Age interiors of English decorator Syrie Maugham, whose clients included Bunny Mellon, Elsa Schiaparelli, and the Duchess of Windsor; V.F.’s fashion and style director, Jessica Diehl, put the 11 cover starlets in pastel satin dresses and frothy feathers to lend a 20s and 30s boudoir feel. Across the panels are actresses Rooney Mara, Mia Wasikowska, Jennifer Lawrence, Jessica Chastain, Elizabeth Olsen, Adepero Oduye, Shailene Woodley, Paula Patton, Felicity Jones, Lily Collins, and Brit Marling. Mara and Chastain—both featured on the front panel—were nominated for Academy Awards in January, Mara for her portrayal of cyberpunk hacker Lisbeth Salander in David Fincher’s Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and Chastain for her supporting role in Tate Taylor’s Oscar heavyweight, The Help. (The Julliard grad also had starring roles in Take Shelter, The Tree of Life, and Coriolanus in 2011.)

Finally, after a while, Jessica Chastain Network has new layouts, done by the amazing Sweet Revelation! We used the pretty InStyle photo shoot, which is one of my favorites!
Our gallery also has a new look, matching with the main theme, and she made us a pretty Twitter background, too!
Please, let me know if you spot any error. I was able to view the layout on IE, Chrome and Firefox with no problem, but just in case, just report the error to me.
